What does, "Run Like You Can" mean?

Hey peeps,

I know I chose a weird name for my blog. What does, "Run Like You Can" really mean? Well for me, it's fake it 'till you make it. When I suit up, I pretend i'm some super cut athlete preparing training for a marathon.... but really, i'm just that out of shape girl whose trying to pretend like I know how to run. No one has to know... well now my secret is out. But oh well, who is reading this anyways!

All About Me!

Hey All (or whomever is out there)

My name is Lindsay, and I started running in March of 2013. It all started at the gym, and when the snow finally melted, I headed outside.

I've never been great at running, and really, I fake it. My pace is never the same, I stop to walk a lot, and I seem to lose my breath way too easily. I've decided to create my own personal blog about my running, and how far (or how little) i've come.

My first "run" ever was in July of 2013, called Zombie Survivor. Basically it was a kick-ass 5K course with obstacles, and zombies. This was their first race ever, and of course there were a lot of kinks. For example, way too many aggressive "zombies" who didn't care if they had to punch you in the face to steal a life flag. Despite being hit, many times, I really enjoyed myself. I earned my first ever medal, and yes, it may say infected, but I really enjoyed myself and running it with 3 friends.

My second "run" was a 10K kaleidoscope run. It was one of those awesome colour runs where you get coloured powder all over, well, everything. I ran it with two of my girlfriends, who I ended up losing during the beginning rat race. I was lucky to finish the run in just over 60 minutes, and ending up getting a medal for being 3rd in my age category!

My third "run" was a half marathon in my home town. Now this is one of the worst ideas I've ever had, considering I didn't train for it properly. But despite this, my friends and I finished in 2hrs and 50m, give or take.

And this is when my lull began. Soon my running partners (that were human) became non existant and this continued into the new year. So here I am, 2014, and my dogs have become my sole partners. I'm slowly getting back into the grove, and my first 5K of the year is in June. I've started back at the beginning of my running groove, just trying to finish a 5K run without having to stop every 20 seconds. Let the battle begin!
